I'm a newbie when it comes to tv capturing and tv tuners. I am using
linux (I have kernel 2.6.28 on intrepid ibex ubuntu 8.10) and am in
america. The cable I wish to capture and display is unscrambled analog
cable (channels 75 and under) without using a cable box.<br>

I have seen some reports of success with the 1600 on linux and reports that it doesn't work. Can someone confirm?<br>

I have also seen from the hauppauge site that analog video is not
currently support. I have heard it is supported and figure the site may
be out of date. Can someone confirm this as well?<br>

Any other accounts on experiences with the 1600 would be appreciated as I have not yet bought this card.<br>

Also, I know that in windows there is scheduling software and display
software. Do these exist in linux too for this hauppauge model?<br>
<br>
Please let me know. I am really interested in buying the card but have
serious doubts. If this card is not for me, recommendations for other
cards would be appreciated.<br>
