I'm running OpenSuSE 11.0 with the latest kernel 2.6.25.5. I'm trying to get the Hauppauge HVR-1600 installed and working with MythTV. I can't seem to get the cx18 module loaded, which appears to be at the very least my next critical step. Everything else seems to be working OK so far... Sorry for the long post, but I know the logs and specific info is often the key. Thanks in advance for any responses.

David
=====

I've been following the installation information in the MythTV wiki at: http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Hauppauge_HVR-1600

I've successfully compiled the driver (make, make install, make unload) from: http://linuxtv.org/hg/v4l-dvb.

* Here is where I have a departure from the posted instructions. If I attempt the 'modprobe cx18' following the make unload, I get a 'module not found' error...

I've copied the latest cx18 firmware from: http://dl.ivtvdriver.org/ivtv/firmware/cx18-firmware.tar.gz to /lib/firmware (*.fw)

I've rebooted.

dmesg does not indicate that the cx18 drivers were loaded.

Here is a little info on the card:

lspci:
02:09.0 Multimedia video controller: Conexant CX23418 Single-Chip MPEG-2 Encoder with Integrated Analog Video/Broadcast Audio Decoder

The card does not appear to be generating obvious errors on boot (but I'm not entirely sure I know what to be looking for. I'm not a newbie, but not an expert either), attached is the complete dmesg output (I apologize for posting the whole thing, but want to make sure there is nothing I've missed...need another set of eyes at this point).
