[ivtv-users] Upgrade Ubuntu Hardy kernel ruined ivtv, upgrading to Ubuntu Intrepid doesn't help.

Mythtv is not very good for testing. Install the ivtv utilities which
should be in the oficial ubuntu packages. make sure mythtv is not
started and then:
use ivtv-tune to tune to a channel/freqyency which has a signal.
do cat /dev/video0 > test.mpg
Does this create a correct file?

I would stick with the oficial released versio from ubuntu.

You should not need to specify a different tuner with this kenel version.

Why do you need to build them? They should be available from ubuntu.

That is the risk of using the bleeding edge repo from v4l-dvb.
